Besides the pressure sensor for general applications, we have introduced in the previous article, Pressure sensors for corrosive media are also widely needed in process control.
A corrosive substance is one that will attack, damage or even destroy other substances with what it comes to contact. During the pressure measurement, the pressure instrument may contact different corrosive chemicals or gases which will damage the diaphragm, housing, pressure connection, cable even the inside circuit and wiring, etc. Therefore, choosing a pressure sensor or pressure transmitter with suitable material compatible with the measured media is essential and critical.
Along with the general use of pressure sensors and pressure transmitters, Micro Sensor also supplies sensors with different materials for corrosive media pressure measurement.
Within our MPM280 series, there are different diaphragm and housing materials, like Stainless Steel, Hastelloy C, Titanium, Tantalum for options. You can select the right material according to your specific requirements.
Type | Diaphragm | Housing | Application | Pressure Range |
Tantalum | Hastelloy C | For strongly corrosive media like vitriol etc. | -0.1…0~0.1…35MPa
Tantalum | Stainless Steel | For strongly corrosive media like Strong acid etc.
Hastelloy C | Hastelloy C | For strongly corrosive media like halide etc.
Titanium | Titanium | For Seawater, nitric acid, etc. | -0.1…0~0.1…70MPa |
All MPM280 anti-corrosive pressure sensor has similar outline construction (φ19mm), installation dimension and sealing methods as a general MPM280 pressure sensor. You can customize the products as you require certainly.
